So this weekend was pretty magical, I spent it at my favorite place in the whole world. We saw the "Pirates 4" 3-D preview and let me tell you, I am so jazzed up for the next movie!! They held this special event inside the Festival Arena at Big Thunder Ranch. The arena is all decked out Pirate-style and the show features fire & smoke effects. There are also live actors who get you all excited for the show. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that we had to sit on the ground for the show. The best part was while waiting in line to get into the arena we met "Captain Squawk" who was a talking pirate parrot..he was HILARIOUS! That was my favorite part about this trip.
Check the Disneyland site for days and times if you want to go and see it! It was about 20 minutes long in total once we got into the arena and we waited in line for approximately 35 minutes eventhough we were early. I'd recommend getting there around 6pm so that you know you'll make it into the first showing.
Also did some pin trading. I only brought 5 to trade (what was I thinking bringing that little?!?) and I traded them all the first day. Got four that I needed and one that I wanted for my honey's collection.
We got stuck on 2 rides. The first was "It's A Small World" but thank goodness we were already outside of the show building and they turned off the song pretty quick. We witnessed some crazy old people trying to get out of their boat because they claimed they had been stuck on the ride for an hour when it was more like 10 minutes. At the end of the trip we got stuck on "Indiana Jones"..and let me tell you, that's kind of been a dream of mine. I've wanted to get evacuated off of a big ride in order to catch glimpses of the backstage areas. We sat in the same spot for about 15 minutes (with the lights on!) and they kept saying they were going to evacuate us but they didn't. Finally they said they were going to let us finish the ride. We were just before the spear room so once we started going we saw everything since they didn't turn the lights back off, including the ball rolling scene and the ending drop. I was kind of amazed at what I did see. Interesting for sure! I totally took some pics..wish I had kept my camera out for the ball scene though!
